Content Editor
Position: The Content Editor will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and consistency of content across various digital platforms. Working closely with the Lead Gaming Producer and other team members, the Content Editor will assist in curating weekly content, participate in production days, and support community engagement. This role also involves staying attuned to social media trends to help grow the ministry’s online presence.
Terms of Employment
Hours: 24 hours a week/ 3 days. Some occasional evenings required.
Salary: £30,000 FTE
Probationary period: 1 month
Holiday: 20 dpy (FTE) + 8 Bank Holidays (allocated pro-rata) = 8 days/year + 3 Bank Holidays
Contract: This post is offered on an initial 3 years fixed term contract, subject to ongoing funding.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist Lead Gaming Producer in Curating Weekly Content:

Collaborate with the Lead Gaming Producer to brainstorm and plan content that aligns with the ministry's vision.

Ensure content is engaging, relevant, and appealing to the target audience.

Participate in Weekly Content Production Days:

Be a key contributor during weekly content production sessions, offering creative input and hands-on assistance.

Help coordinate and manage the production workflow to ensure timely and efficient content creation.

Active Participation in Discord Server:

Engage actively in the Discord community to moderate discussions and encourage meaningful interaction.

Foster a positive and inclusive environment that aligns with the ministry’s values.

Editing and General Content Production:

Edit video, audio, and written content to ensure high quality and consistency.

Collaborate with the production team to finalise content for publication across various digital platforms.

Monitor Social Media Trends and Opportunities:

Stay updated on the latest social media trends and best practices.

Identify new content opportunities and strategies to grow the ministry’s social media presence and engagement.

Qualifications:

Experience in Content Editing: Proficiency in video and audio editing, with a strong understanding of digital content production.

Creative Skills: Ability to contribute fresh ideas and creative input during content planning and production.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail in editing content.

Tech-Savvy: Proficiency with editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro) and social media platforms.

Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively with a team and contribute to a positive working environment.

Understanding of Social Media: Knowledge of current social media trends and strategies to increase engagement

This role is ideal for a creative and detail-oriented individual passionate about producing engaging, faith-based content.

Part-Time Online Safeguarding Officer

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Online Safeguarding Officer to join our team one day per week. This role is vital in ensuring all our digital activities — from content creation and livestreams to Discord community engagement — are run in line with best safeguarding practices. You’ll help us create safe online spaces where young people can engage with faith, knowing they are protected and supported.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure all online and in-person activities follow the Church of England’s safeguarding guidelines.

Develop, maintain, and enforce safeguarding policies for online behaviour and community interaction.

Provide advice and training for staff, volunteers, and moderators on online safeguarding best practice.

Monitor and review safeguarding risks across platforms such as Discord, Twitch, TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.
-
Establish safe reporting channels for young people and volunteers.
-
Liaise with external safeguarding organisations (e.g., Thirtyone:eight) for guidance, audits, and training.
-
Build relationships with social platforms (e.g., Twitch, Discord) to stay informed on safety tools and best practice.
-
Act as the first point of contact for safeguarding concerns and respond in line with policies.

Person Specification​
Essential
-
Strong understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures, particularly for children and young people.
-
Experience working in a safeguarding role (digital or in-person).
-
Knowledge of risks associated with online platforms (Discord, Twitch, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, etc.).
-
A committed Christian faith, with alignment to Emmaus Gaming’s mission and values.
-
Excellent communication skills and ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion.

Desirable

Experience in youth work, digital ministry, or online community management.

Familiarity with the Church of England’s safeguarding framework.

Training or certification in child protection/safeguarding (e.g., through Thirtyone:eight).
